Third-place finish in Dark Side Fall Bash prelim at Cedar County
Tim Ward competed in a three-day event at Cedar County Raceway (Tipton, Iowa) where a strong run in Friday's preliminary night highlighted his weekend.
With 50 IMCA Modifieds on the grounds for the prelims on Thursday and Friday, Ward moved forward in Thursday's heat race but his night was over after breaking while under caution in the feature.
Starting Friday's preliminary in 15th via third-place heat outing, Tim advanced forward 12 spots to register a third-place finish. He joined race-winner Tripp Gaylord and Ethan Braaksma on the podium.
Ward's weekend ended early on Saturday after sneaking into the $3,000-to-win finale via B-Main. The Harcourt, Iowa racer pulled off early in the 50-lapper to save equipment.
