Ward tops Dale DeFrance Memorial in Modified at Marshalltown Speedway
After claiming his 101st career victory at the Iowa oval a weekend prior, Tim Ward returned to Clay County Fair Speedway (Spencer, Iowa) on Wednesday to compete in the Hunting with Heroes Salute to Veterans Tour.
Taking the green in fourth in the feature via a ninth-to-third heat showing, Ward muscled forward two positions in the 25-lap opener to place second.
Back in action on Friday, Tim invaded Marshalltown (IA) Speedway for the seventh annual Dale DeFrance Memorial. With a runner-up heat outing placing him on the third for for the A-Main, Ward outran Zack VanderBeek and Tripp Gaylord to claim his 11th victory of the season and the $1,500 winner's payday.
A visit to Boone (IA) Speedway on Saturday resulted in an early exit for the Harcourt, Iowa, native. After squeezing into the A-Main with a third-place finish in his heat, Tim pulled off on lap 16 of the feature.
His weekend concluded with a fifth-place finish in the Whole Hog 50 at Stuart (IA) Speedway on Sunday aboard his Precision Performance No. 4TW Modified. He chased Ethan Braaksma, Jeremy Mills, Joel Rust, and Todd Shute to the checkers.
