Tim Ward tops IMCA Summer Challenge Series stop at Clay County
Traveling north to compete for a six-figure payday, Tim Ward was one of 145 Modifieds amassed at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.) on Wednesday afternoon for the inaugural Big Deal 24.
With prelims set for Wednesday through Friday, Tim's eighth-place finish in Friday's preliminary feature aboard the GRT Race Cars No. GRT1 Modified entry locked him into the top-16 in points and Saturday's main event.
Starting the $100,001-to-win Big Deal 24 on Saturday night in 14th, Ward was sidelined near the middle stages of the 100-lapper with mechanical issues.
Back behind the wheel of his Precision Performance Racing Suspensions No. 4TW Modified on Monday at Clay County Fair Speedway (Spencer, Iowa) for the IMCA Summer Challenge Series event, Tim outran Tom Berry Jr. in the 30-lap feature to claim his seventh win of the season and the $2,000 winner's payday.
