Tim Ward parks GRT House Car in victory lane at Humboldt
The 2024 season continued for Tim Ward on Friday as he hopped behind the wheel of the GRT Race Cars No. 1 Modified house car for the weekly event at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kan.).
With the event serving as a test session for the upcoming ONUM Modified event in Wisconsin, Ward raced into the feature with a runner-up finish in his heat. Tracking down early pacesetter Kenton Allen on the ninth circuit, Tim paced the final 12 circuits to record his sixth win of the season. He finished 2.637 seconds ahead of Jacob Hobscheidt with Paden Phillips rounding out the podium.
Ward’s weekend came to early end in Saturday’s night Heartland Modified Tour event at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kan.) after retiring early from the 30-lapper. He started the Dalice Franz Memorial A-Main in 21st via a runner-up B-Main showing but was relegated to 21st in the finishing order after exiting on lap 19.
