TW grabs a pair of runner-ups in Winter Nationals finale, finishes second in points
For the final four rounds of the IMCATV Winter Nationals, Tim Ward returned to Cocopah Speedway (Somerton, Ariz.) on Wednesday afternoon to pilot his Toby K’s Hideaway No. 4TW Modified.
With an impressive eighth-to-first showing in his heat race placing him on the pole for the main event, Ward dropped three spots to finish fourth. He followed Ethan Braaksma, Jeremy Mills, and Grey Ferrando across the line with Kollin Hibdon coming in fifth.
On Thursday, Tim failed to accumulate enough passing points in his heat but was able to race into the A-Main with a runner-up consolation finish. Wheeling his way into the top-10, Ward passed 11 cars to register a 10th-place finish.
The final two rounds of the IMCATV Winter Nationals saw Ward capture a pair of runner-up finishes in both Friday and Saturday night's features.
Tim finished second in the final IMCATV Winter Nationals point standings, a mere two points behind Modified champ Chaz Baca.
